There is a purpose behind the activities, and it has not changed since 1985: we want your child to come home a little more grown-up. The groups, the rooms, the daily chores and the Olympics are all designed to work on eight things.

Companionship and teamwork. Almost nothing here is done alone: the Olympics are competed in teams, and campers share rooms of eight with two monitors.

Independence and tidiness. Every camper looks after their own clothes, their own room and their own time. They take part in keeping the rooms in order and setting up the dining room: for us that is part of the programme, not a punishment.

Friendship and physical exercise. Groups are formed by age, and there are six activities a day plus trips out into the countryside: they are on the move from morning to night, and they make friends outside school.

Respect and effort. The rules are explained on the first day and they are the same for everyone. We do not ask them to be the best at anything; we ask them to try.

We have five sites in Spain, and the return coach from Madrid is included in all of them.

Toledo. Our own site a few kilometres from Toledo. Outdoor sport, nature and art workshops; horse riding, golf and the rope course are the favourite activities. It is the site for the youngest campers and also for the Juniors, each with their own programme.

Gredos. A few kilometres from Cuacos de Yuste, in the foothills of the Gredos range, in «La Vera» in Extremadura: hot by day and cool at night thanks to the river gorge, with a natural pool right next to the camp and mountain routes through the Valle del Jerte.

Tarifa. The Strait of Gibraltar, where the wind blows and the sea is the playground: surf, kitesurf, windsurf and paddle surf almost every day, plus climbing, a canoe crossing and whale watching. Here campers sleep in individual tents.

Sotogrande. This programme sleeps in Tarifa, on the same site and in the same tents as LayosCamp Tarifa, and goes down to Sotogrande three days a week. Sotogrande is on the coast of Cádiz, in the municipality of San Roque: a seaside resort with its own marina and clubs, where they sail at the Real Club Marítimo de Sotogrande and play padel and tennis at Club Octógono.

Santander. Two hundred metres from Loredo beach, on the bay of Santander, where surfing took its first steps in Spain: eight kilometres of sandy beach, with waves both for beginners and for those polishing their technique.

Our summer camps are divided into three age groups so that campers have fun and do their activities with others of the same age.

The camps for the youngest are Toledo and Gredos. From the age of 11 they can also choose Sotogrande-Tarifa.

The programmes for teens are Toledo Junior (July and August, ages 13 to 15), Santander (July, ages 12 to 16) and Tarifa (July, ages 14 to 16).

One monitor for every four children. Rooms hold eight campers, separated by gender and age, and each one is in the care of two monitors: one with the official youth leader qualification and one on their practical placement. Activities are run in those same groups of eight, and a coordinator for each age group leads the monitors.

They have breakfast, lunch and dinner with them. The room monitor sits at the table with their campers at all three meals of the day. So on top of the food being healthy, there is an adult keeping an eye on what every child eats: it is the same filter that prevents cross-contamination in allergies.

A daily check. The team meets every day to go through how each camper is doing, room by room. Whatever comes up in that meeting does not wait until tomorrow.

Problems are solved on the spot. This is what we care about most. A scuffle between two children, a camper who misses home, a stomach ache: it is dealt with the same day, and if you need to know, we call you before you have to ask.

And you can call whenever you like. From the very first day you can speak to your child's monitor by calling the camp, and between the camp and the office you have 24-hour cover. Our monitors come out of our own training school: in summer we do not hire anyone who has not worked with LayosCamp before.

We prepare the food with top quality products and of course, with a lot of love. Menus designed for children. A healthy and balanced diet. The children eat with their room monitor. We have options for those children with intolerances, allergies or special diets.

All the camps are less than 5 minutes from a medical center and 15 minutes from a hospital. A medical student in their MIR residency stage takes care of the nursing and day-to-day care of the children and provides first-line care. All children are covered by accident insurance.

In addition, it will be essential for each child to bring a photocopy of the Social Security card or, failing that, of their private insurance for possible illnesses in their suitcase. Foreign children also need compulsory travel insurance provided by LayosCamp to expedite procedures in case of any eventuality.

It is essential to wear the camp uniform, 3 t-shirts, 3 pants, 3 pairs of socks and 1 sweatshirt: €160 complete uniform.

We accept uniforms from other years or from former students. The uniform must be ordered at the time of online registration. The uniform will be given to the campers on the first day of camp.

There is a daily laundry service at the camp: that is why the complete uniform is more than enough for the whole stay.

As every year we ask you to please bring a small suitcase.

In all programs we include round trip transportation from Madrid to each camp. We make an appointment with the parents at a meeting point and the children always travel accompanied by monitors.

LayosCamp offers a collection and delivery service at the airport or station for those children traveling from abroad, price to be specified with the office. We will need full arrival and departure details.

You can talk to your children from the third full day of camp, by calling the camp phone at the times that we will indicate. The use of mobile phones is allowed during the same hours. The rest of the time is kept by the monitor of each camper in their locker.
