August in Gredos is different.
A smaller, more family-like camp, where children get to know each other straight away and a very special atmosphere forms.
At this time of year we also welcome proportionally more international campers —almost half the group comes from outside Spain—, so living alongside children from different countries and cultures is part of the experience, and Spanish and English come up quite naturally every day.
It is also a perfect option for families who work in August and want their children to keep making the most of the summer: a natural pool in the heart of the mountains, mountain trails, sport, nature workshops, camping under the stars, friends and plenty of time outdoors.
And, along the way, swapping quite a few hours of screen time for whole days of doing things, living together and having fun with other children. Something that does no harm in August either.
The same service and the same ratio as in July: one counsellor for every four campers. And two things only August has: if you are coming from abroad, pick-up at the airport or station is included; and if the group did not reach the minimum needed to run it properly, we refund you in full.

Camp details
Multi-activity program. The groups are distributed by age. They carry out 6 different activities throughout the day that are complemented with field trips. Every day after dinner we organize evenings with animation games. There will also be Olympics with their respective opening and closing ceremonies and with the delivery of medals.
Our camps are divided into age groups with the aim that students have fun and do activities with other campers of the same age. Each group has a program designed according to their abilities.
We prepare the food with top quality products and of course, with a lot of love. Menus designed for children. A healthy and balanced diet. The children eat with their room monitor. We have options for those children with intolerances, allergies or special diets.
All the camps are less than 5 minutes from a medical center and 15 minutes from a hospital. A licensed lifeguard and a medical student in their MIR residency stage take care of the nursing and day-to-day care of the children; the medical student provides first-line care. All children are covered by accident insurance.
In addition, it will be essential for each child to bring a photocopy of the Social Security card or, failing that, of their private insurance for possible illnesses in their suitcase. Foreign children also need compulsory travel insurance provided by LayosCamp to expedite procedures in case of any eventuality.
It is essential to wear the camp uniform, 3 t-shirts, 3 pants, 3 pairs of socks and 1 sweatshirt: €160 complete uniform.
We accept uniforms from other years or from former students. The uniform must be ordered at the time of online registration. The uniform will be given to the campers on the first day of camp. There is daily laundry.
As every year we ask you to please bring a small suitcase.
In all programs we include round trip transportation from Madrid to each camp. We make an appointment with the parents at a meeting point and the children always travel accompanied by monitors.
LayosCamp offers a collection and delivery service at the airport or station for those children traveling from abroad, at an extra 70 € per camper provided flights or trains arrive within the recommended time window (included in August sessions); outside that window, please contact the office. We will need full arrival and departure details.
You can talk to your children from the third full day of camp, by calling the camp phone at the times that we will indicate. The use of mobile phones is allowed during the same hours. The rest of the time is kept by the monitor of each camper in their locker.
