Counsellor training
The official qualification of the Castilla-La Mancha regional government, at the oldest counsellor training school in the region. The qualification employers ask for, and a career that starts here.
The credential
It is the official monitor de tiempo libre qualification awarded by the Directorate-General for Employment and Youth of the Castilla-La Mancha regional government, with exactly the same legal standing as that of any other accredited centre.
Our school has been authorised since 1999 by the Regional Department of Youth and Culture: it is the oldest counsellor training school in Castilla-La Mancha. Behind it there is a family business running since 1985, which has been training its own teams ever since.
A very high share of our trainees are former LayosCamp campers. From campers to counsellors — and of those who come through the school, we hire the best.
How it works
The course is 250 hours across two independent stages. The taught stage happens here, residentially. The placement comes afterwards, at a real camp — and there are two years to complete it.
Taught stage
Eleven days at the camp on full board, following the syllabus set by the Regional Department of Youth and Culture. There are two intakes a year to choose from.
Placement
After the taught stage: a summer fortnight, a long weekend or a LayosCamp school programme. There are two years to complete it, and it also counts at any other accredited centre with an agreement in place.
LayosCamp places trainee counsellors according to the needs of each programme.
The qualification
Once both stages are closed, the Directorate-General for Employment and Youth issues the official qualification. It is the one they ask for to work at camps, leisure activities and school programmes anywhere in Spain.
And afterwards
Our counsellor teams come from here: it is our own nursery, and the reason the school has been running since 1999. Of those who come through it, we hire the best.

Logistics
Coach travel
Included from Hipercor Pozuelo, Madrid (Ctra. de La Coruña km 12.5, exit 45 off the M-40). The coach leaves at the time set for each intake.
Full board
Breakfast, lunch, afternoon snack and dinner. Intolerances and special diets must be told to us in advance.
Mobile phones
Allowed outside class hours. During sessions they go away and everyone concentrates.
Health
Accident insurance included. We ask for a copy of the public health card or private insurance. First-response sick bay at the camp.
